Continuing Our Commitment

The name Gran Tierra (Great Earth)
embodies the respect we have for the
world we live in and our approach to
responsible development. We are
committed to making each of the
regions we touch a better place to live
and work. Gran Tierra Energy works
closely with communities, partners,
and all levels of government and
non-government agencies
in Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Argentina.

In 2013 we delivered on our commitment to significantly increase our financial commitment to the communities in which we operate and, as a company, intend to do so again in 2014. Gran Tierra Energy is focused on working in partnership with stakeholders on an array of initiatives ranging from supporting educational, cultural and agricultural programs to helping fund and develop power and technology, water and sanitation, healthcare, and residential infrastructure. Each of these measures is specifically targeted to benefit children and families and reaches beyond the specific choices taken by Gran Tierra Energy to employ local contractors and labour. While supporting people is core to our operational philosophy, we also take our responsibility for our surrounding environs very seriously. In 2014, we plan to spend nearly $40 million across our operating areas in four countries on initiatives designed to monitor and protect the environment and minimize the impact of our operations.
